First Year Engineering

The Department of First Year Engineering at Pimpri Chinchwad University plays a foundational role in shaping the engineering aspirations of our students. As the crucial initial stage, our first-year program aligns with PCU’s vision of providing value-added, holistic education that bridges school-level knowledge with professional engineering practices.

At PCU, our first-year curriculum is designed to introduce core engineering concepts across subjects—Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Programming, and Communication—combined with early exposure to problem-based learning and ethical values. This balanced approach is in line with the NEP‑2020 and the Choice Based Credit System adopted by PCU.

Our dedicated faculty and state-of-the-art infrastructure offer laboratory sessions, workshops, seminars, and mentoring that prioritize hands-on learning and critical thinking. Through this immersive environment, students learn to navigate multidisciplinary topics effectively, preparing them for the dynamic demands of engineering disciplines.

We emphasize professional ethics, communication, teamwork, and innovation from the outset. Co‑curricular and extracurricular engagements are encouraged to nurture leadership and social responsibility—traits we believe are essential to forming well-rounded professionals.

The Department of First Year Engineering at PCU is more than a stepping stone—it is a launchpad for future success. Our mission is to ensure each student is academically grounded, intellectually confident, and socially responsible, ready to excel throughout higher semesters and beyond.
